As a promised follow-up to Attachment workshop, Dr. Kaak will help us learn the PCIT skills. How to interact with the youngster, and developing a relationship which the child will value are stressed, as well as things to avoid. It’s all done in 5 minutes a day. Much of the workshop will be devoted to practicing these skills.

A critical and often overlooked area of need essential for learning for preschool and school age children is optimal hearing, listening and comprehension skills. This workshop will provide an overview of the hearing mechanism, how it functions, how hearing in very young children is tested and when/where to refer, if problems with a child’s hearing are suspected. Hands-on activities that can be replicated and used in the classroom to enhance listening skills will be included.
